Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is It Illegal To Remove Negatives From Your Credit Report ?

The Fair Credit Reporting Act, enabled by Congress, clearly states that every consumer is entitled to question, verify, and have derogatory information removed whenever such is inaccurate, outdated, unverifiable, or misleading. As is the case with many other laws in our nation, most consumers are not aware of their rights and do not have the time to study these laws.

Is It Really Possible To Repair Credit?

In a technical sense, no. For example, Federal and State laws prohibit us from saying that removal of all negatives can be guaranteed. Yet, by the same token, any information, no matter how accurate, which cannot be verified within a reasonable amount of time, according to law, CANNOT be included on your credit report. Our job is not to repair your credit....but to repair the reporting of your credit!

Why Are The Credit Bureaus So Paranoid About Credit Improvement?

Credit Bureaus sell their information for millions of dollars daily to institutions who rely on that service. Now think for a minute how it makes their business appear when the consumer shows them up and proves how wrong they can be! Not only does it make their business look foolish, it also diminishes the confidence in their service. Unfortunately, the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian & TransUnion) have spent millions convincing the American public that bad credit cannot be deleted from an individual's credit report.

Once Negatives Are Investigated And Removed, Do They Come Back?

Negative information, once investigated and found unverifiable, outdated, misleading or inaccurate, may not reappear on your credit report, according to the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act)

What Happens With Bankruptcies, Repo's & Foreclosures?

These are considered negatives and derogatories just like late payments, though more severe in the amount of points deducted from your credit score. Quite often these items can also be removed.

Does Credit Restoration Jeopardize The Credit System?

At NO time do we advocate the implementation of illegal procedures and/or suggest "fooling" the system. However, we keep in mind how consumers can be hurt and prevented from obtaining credit and even a job because of inaccurate, outdated, misleading or unverifiable information.

Are Experian, Equifax & TransUnion Connected With The Government?

These are private companies and have absolutely NO CONNECTION with our government. These, for profit companies, make the decision on how, what, and wherefore regarding consumer credit and reporting of same.

Why Does It Take So Long?

It takes time to establish good credit and it takes time to mess it up. Improvement must take place along legally established guidelines and certain procedural rules must be followed. There are no shortcuts!

Are There Any Items Which Are Hard To Remove?

No. ANY unverifiable, inaccurate, outdated or misleading item can be removed regardless of how long it has been reported!

What Do I Do With My Clean Credit?

After the credit bureaus conclude their investigations, a new copy of your updated and corrected credit report will be sent to your home address. Your credit report will still reflect your past good history, and therefore you should have relatively few problems. For those who must start fresh, there ar simple procedures you can follow to begin establishing new credit. Remember, the most important thing you can do is to pay your accounts on time over time. This will allow you to maximize your credit potential.
